La Alhambra

The Alhambra is one of the main tourists’ attractions in Granada and I was lucky enough to be able to see it within my first week of residing in the city.  I actually completely forget to mention it which is strange because it was absolutely amazing.  It dates back to the 9th century and was originally built by and for the Muslims.  Although then around the 1400's, Catholic kings took over the city of Granada and claimed the Alhambra as a Palace.  Today it appears to be a mix of both the Muslim and Catholic heritages, as you can see both crosses and Arabic in the details throughout the multiple buildings and gardens.
